So you want to know a bit about me? I respond to Kate, Katie Grace and Kathryn. All of which have been my name at one point or another. I’m married to a most wonderful man named Caleb and we are Sparrow’s pet parents. You’d love meeting her. She’s 100 pounds of pure snuggles. But in case you never meet her I’ll be sure to post photos of her big smile to brighten your day. One of life’s greatest challenges is finding out who you are going to be when you grow up. You know what I mean. When you go to kindergarten and they say, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” and you sit there with your box of crayons and draw into existence an image of a grand future. One that is often too grand to ever come true. For me that picture was me in a floral dress standing in the middle of the prairie with 12 children. I was actually quite confident I’d make it there. Instead, I’m sitting here at River’s Edge, the name we’ve given our place here along the Cedar River as a dog mom to my cute pup Sparrow. I’m crafting a life I’m learning to be content in and thankful for. One that isn’t what I dreamt of my whole childhood, but one that is rich and doesn’t give up.
